Shoot-outs prevailed in the inaugural day of the final round of the First Security Islami Bank National School Hockey at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium yesterday. Three of the four matches were decided on shootouts.
In the first match of the day BAF Shaheen School won against Latif Memorial Seminary, Potuakhali by 2-0 goals in the shootout. Both teams could only score a goal apiece in the stipulated time with Amit Hasan scoring for Latif Memorial in the 20th minute and Shihabuddin scoring the equalizer for BAF Shaheen School in the 55th minute.
Khanjanpur High School, Joypurhat beat Kurigram Govt. High School 1-0 in the shootout in the second match of the day after the stipulated time ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
Rafikuddin Memorial High School, Comilla outplayed Fatullah Pilot High School 2-0 in the third match of the day. Emdadul Haque Manik and Javed Hossain scored the goals in the 33rd and 57th minute respectively for the winning side.
The fourth match of the day also was decided in a shoot-out. The score was 1-1 after the normal time in the match between Nabab Habibullah High School and Yusuf Pilot Technical School. Rezvi scored for Nabab Habibullah High School and Kamrul for Yusuf Pilot Technical School in the 21st and 51st minutes respectively. Later Habibullah prevailed 2-0 in the shoot-out.
