The final round of the First Security Islami Bank National School Hockey starts at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium today.
A total of 29 schools will feature in the final round. As many as 102 schools from across the country participated in the preliminary round at 10 venues across the country. International Hockey Federation president Leandro Negre inaugurated the First Security Islami Bank National School Hockey Championship as the chief guest on February 1 of this year.
The First Security Islami Bank Ltd (FSIBL) sponsored the meet with a purse of Tk. 20m and half of the amount has already been given to the federation. The amount is the largest sponsorship deal the hockey federation has been involved in to date, surpassing the Tk. 10m deal with Islami Bank Ltd for the Asian Games Hockey Qualifiers.
