Abahani beat Sonali Bank and Ajax bested Azad Sporting in the Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium yesterday.
Pushkor Khisha Mimo was the hero of the day for Abahani as he scored both goals in a 2-1 win.
Mimo struck in the 29th and 31st minutes, after Sonali Bank had gone ahead in the 20th minute through a penalty corner by Masum in the 20th minute.
Ajax clubbed Azad 4-0. Former national forward Jahidul Islam Rajon opened the scoring with a field goal 5 minutes into the game, Prashanta added a second in the 26th minute, Imtiaz Ahjmed Rubel made it 3-0 in the 48th minute and Khandokar Hasan Ahmed completed the rout in the 63rd minute.
