Bangladesh beat Chinese Taipei

The Bangladesh national hockey team came back from after Thursday’s defeat against Pakistan to earn a comfortable 3-1 victory over Chinese Taipei in their second practice match in Malaysia yesterday.

Puskor Khiso Mimo netted two goals while Krishna Kumar scored one for the men in red and green, who dominated play throughout the game.

The Bangladesh Hockey Federation general secretary believes that the victory will boost the team’s confidence. “The defeat against Pakistan was not a big thing and not abnormal since they are the former World and Olympic champions. We are still learning, which was reflected in the second game against Chinese Taipei. This victory will boost our confidence,” said Khwaja.  

The Asia Cup Hockey will get underway today. Bangladesh will play their first match against Korea tomorrow before taking on Oman August 27 and India the day after.

Earlier, Bangladesh were defeated 0-5 by Pakistan in their first practice match.
