Bangladesh national hockey team will play two practice matches in Malaysia ahead of the Asia Cup that starts from August 24 at Ipoh.
Head coach Naveed Alam said the national team is all set to reach Malaysia on August 18 or 19 and the team will play Pakistan on August 21and will try to play another practice match against Malaysia before the tourney begins. “I have confirmed the match against Pakistan and I will try to arrange the match against Malaysia. We look forward to take the best preparations for the challenges of the top tournament of Asia,” said the Pakistani.
The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) has released the two pools of the event. Pool A consists of Pakistan, Malaysia, Japan and Chinese-Taipei while pool B comprises Korea, India, Oman and Bangladesh.
Bangladesh will also play four warm-up games against a visiting Indian outfit ONGC in Dhaka from July 27.
