The official result of Bangladesh Hockey Federation election is likely to be circulated today given the National Sports Council (NSC) receives the green signal from the court.
Haiyul Quaiyum, the director of sports of NSC and also the election commissioner of the election, said it on July 7. “Our panel lawyer was out of the city and he will arrive today and will request the honourable court about the next step. Depending upon the direction we will publish the gazette of the election. Everything is ready and we just require the court’s direction,” said Quaiyum.
The hockey players’ transfer was scheduled to be held from July 2-4, but a new date for the transfer is uncertain after it was postponed by the current interim committee of BHF. Unless the elected committee or the government takes another step of forming another ad-hoc committee, the transfer is likely not to take place. The NSC’s verdict about the election, that was scheduled to be held on June 27, but was not held as there was only one panel, will show the path of the conclusion.
State minister for youth and sports Ahad Ali Sarker, when the aggrieved hockey players met with him at his NSC office on Sunday, promised to take necessary steps to pull the hockey back on the field. The minister is expected to discuss the ongoing stalemate with the concerned hockey personalities and take the necessary actions
