Former Bangladesh hockey team coach Kurtz joins Mariner

Former Bangladesh hockey team coach Oliver Kurtz has joined top-flight outfit Mariner Youngs Club. Kurtz arrived in Dhaka Tuesday before conducting training a day later. The season-opening Club Cup Hockey gets underway Sunday.

Kurtz previously worked as the Bangladesh assistant coach from 2009-10. He was also the Bangladesh coach last year and his first major assignment with the men in red and green was at the Hockey World League Round 2. Kurtz was a member of the gold-medal winning German team in the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992.
