Update : 06 Dec 2013, 06:07 PM

Siddikur Rahman missed the cut in the Hong Kong Open after a poor display in the second round where he carded a three-over-par 73 at the Hong Kong Golf Club yesterday.

After an average first round performance which saw him in 69th position, Siddikur finished the second day at jointly 97th with a total score of four-over-par 144.

In the second round, the 29-year-old played four bogeys and only one birdie, which showed him the exit door from the US$1.3 million event.

Meanwhile, South Africa’s Jbe Kruger paid a fitting tribute to the passing of Nelson Mandela by storming into the lead at the end of the second round with a four-under-par 66.

As the only South African in the strong field where over 30 Asian Tour champions have gathered at the Hong Kong Golf Club, Kruger broke clear of the chasing pack during an extraordinary runwhere he made six birdies in seven holes to sign for a two-day total of seven-under-par 133.
