Bangladesh Football Federation yesterday announced the 23-man squad for the six-nation Bangabandhu Gold Cup, scheduled to begin this Thursday.
The team were finalised after a practice match between the national side and premier league outfit Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club. The national side won 3-1 with Jahid Hasan Emily grabbing a brace while the other one was an own goal. Sheikh Jamal’s lone strike came from their new Haitian recruit Lunion.
The five members who have been omitted from the 28-man squad are defenders Mohammed Linkon and Ariful Islam, forward Aminul Islam Sajib, winger Rubel Miah and midfielder Atikur Rahman Fahad.
