Bangladesh Under-12 football team were held to a 1-1 draw by Spanish top flight club Sevilla in the opening match of Group D in the Super Mokh U-12 Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia yesterday. However, Bangladesh lost their second match of the group, against Thai club Chonburi FC, on the same day.
Rashedul put Bangladesh ahead with just eight minutes into the match before Ruben grabbed the equaliser for Sevilla in the 22nd minute.
Bangladesh, who are taking part in this kind of tournament for the very first time, though conceded a huge 6-0 defeat against Chonburi.
The kids in Red and Green will play their last Group D match against the hosts, Malaysian club Cougars, today. Bangladesh must win if they are to have any hopes of progressing to the last eight.
The top two teams from each group will go through to the Cup Competition, or quarterfinals. The bottom two sides of each group on the other hand will contest in the Plate Phase.
