Osman eyes Everton milestone

Update : 22 Nov 2014, 05:21 AM

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has called Leon Osman an “incredible example” to aspiring players as he prepares for his 400th appearance for the club against West Ham United on Saturday.

Osman, who made his debut against Tottenham Hotspur in January 2003, signed a one-year contract extension earlier this month and Martinez says the 33-year-old remains a key figure at Goodison Park.

“I’m sure people know the names of the other players who have reached 400 appearances. There are not many from the modern era,” Martinez said.

“It is so difficult to find such a loyal footballer who can also cope with the demands of the modern game. lEverton manager Roberto Martinez has called Leon Osman an “incredible example” to aspiring players as he prepares for his 400th appearance for the club against West Ham United on Saturday.
