Bangladesh’s Dutch head coach Lodewijk de Kruif blasted the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) for not keeping their promises of paying his dues in time and said he will not return to national team duty before receiving his salary.
The Dutchman, who went home on vacation following the conclusion of Asian Games men’s football and was supposed to come back last Tuesday, also said he took the issue to Fifa as well.
“BFF cannot keep promises. I don’t want to work with them,” said De Kruif to a Bangladeshi journalist through social media yesterday. He added, “I spoke with Fifa yesterday (Tuesday) and they will take it over soon.
“They did not pay me for four months now. After three months BFF is in serious offence and in big trouble. But I don’t understand them,” he said adding, “I came with several good ideas to help but they didn’t provide me apartment, car, driver. It was all in my contract. I don’t want to fight over it but now my family is suffering.”
BFF president Kazi Salahuddin went to Singapore and is scheduled to return home today. It was learned that the decision surrounding the payment of the outstanding wages of the Dutch coaches will be taken after the return of Salahuddin.
“The coach (De Kruif) told me they will not come back until they receive their one-month salary. It is really unfortunate as the Sri Lanka friendlies are just a few days away,” said BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag yesterday.
