Dhaka Tribune reaches last four

Dhaka Tribune, The Daily Star, Somoy TV and My TV swept into the semifinals of the Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football after winning their respective quarterfinal matches at the BFF turf at Arambagh yesterday.

Dhaka Tribune earned a comfortable 2-0 victory over RTV in the day’s first quarterfinal with Reazur Rahman Rohan and Fazley Rabbi Moon netting one apiece. Both goals came in the first half.

In the other three last-eight matches, The Daily Star edged past bdnews24.com4-2 in the tiebreaker as the tie remained goalless following stipulated time, My TV crushed Bangla Vision 4-0 while Somoy TV registered a hard-fought 1-0 win over Jamuna TV to book their place in the last four.

Dhaka Tribune will take on Somoy TV in the day’s first semifinal while Daily Star will battle with My TV today in their respective semifinal matches. The final will be held tomorrow.

Former national star footballer Ashrafuddin Ahmed Chunnu, national coaches Maruful Haque and Shafiqul Islam Manik distributed the prizes among the winners as special guests.
