BFF hopeful of practice match against Nepal

Bangladesh Football Federation is looking forward to bringing Nepal to Dhaka for a practice match ahead of the Asian Games.

BFF general secretary Abu Naeem Shohag confirmed the news saying, “We have started the communication process and we hope to bring Nepal in the last week of the current month. The match will be played at the Bangabandhu National Stadium and we are hopeful of hosting the match,” said Shohag.

Shohag further added that on their way to Incheon, Bangladesh team will play another practice match against Malaysia. The proposal has already been sent to Malaysian Football Federation.

Bangladesh U-23 team is currently at BKSP preparing for the Asian Games under Dutch coach Lodewijk de Kruif and his assistant Rene Koster. There are 27 players in the camp and Bangladesh has to finalise the squad within August 18 of this year.  The draw of the tournament will be held on August 21.

The football matches of the Asian Games is scheduled to be held in Incheon, South Korea from September 14 to October 3, 2014. The opening match will be played five days prior to the opening ceremony. 24 teams will play in male section while eight teams will participate in women’s competition.
