Update : 14 Jul 2014, 07:29 PM

Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha reached Dhaka last night from Australia and will join the national training camp from today. Hathurusinghe’s arrival also means Bangladesh cricketers will start their second phase of their preparation for the tour of West Indies in August.

Hathurusingha left Bangladesh for a three week-long vacation to meet his family, just three days after the end of the three-match ODI series against India at home last month.

The national cricketers started their fitness training, the first phase of training, on July 1 under the supervision of the Bangladesh strength and conditioning coach Mario Villavarayen. The second phase of the training will be limited to skill development only.

Bangladesh’s pace bowling coach Heath Streak is also expected to join the camp in a day or two although it was reported earlier that the former Zimbabwe skipper would reach Dhaka in the first week of August.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the itinerary of Bangladesh’s tour of West Indies. Bangladesh will play two Tests, three ODIs and one Twenty20 international during the 37-day-long tour. The series will kick-off with the lone one-day warm-up game on August 17 followed by the three-match ODI series. The ODI matches are scheduled to be played on August 20, 22 and 25 respectively.

The lone Twenty20 game of the bilateral series will be played on August 27 in Saint Kitts. Before the start of the two-match Test series, Bangladesh will play a three-day match starting on August 30. The two Tests against the hosts West Indies will begin from September 5 and 13 respectively.
