BFF MPs to aid football

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) expressed the hope that the three members of its executive committee members, who have recently been elected to parliament, would be able to aid in the developing the game across the country, at a reception at the BFF House yesterday.

BFF vice presidents Arif Khan Joy, Kazi Nabil and member Shamsul Haque Chowdhury were elected MP’s from different constituencies and Joy was named as the deputy minister of the youth and sports ministry. Joy, however was not present at the reception as he had official commitments to fulfill in Tangail.

BFF president Kazi Salahuddin look forwards to optimum support from the lawmakers. “Firstly they are football orgainsers, they are well aware of what to do for football. It’s an honour to see that three football federation members have been elevated to members of parliament. I don’t have to tell them what they have to do,” said Salahuddin.

Kazi Nabil Ahmed expressed his desire to aid football to the greatest extent possible. “Football needs a lot of work and we, with our positions, will try our best to help it. The national football team requires governmental support, we will try to explore new horizons,” he said.

Shamsul Haque Chowdhury described football as his first love, adding that his relationship to the game is eternal and that developing the game further would be his key focus.
