Update : 13 Jan 2014, 06:29 PM

There was no Premier League representation in the star-studded FifPro 2013 Team of the Year announced tonight in Zurich. The three candidates for the Ballon d’Or are included  in a formidable looking team. Franck Ribery takes his place in midfield alongside Barcelona pair Andres Iniesta and Xavi, with Ronaldo and Leo Messi forming a lethal attack with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. This is the second year in succession without a Premier League representative while it marks the first time players from the Bundesliga or France's Ligue 1 had ever been selected in the Fifa team of the year. Team of the Year:

Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid and Portugal), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Paris St-Germain and Sweden), Lionel Messi (Barcelona and Argentina)

Midfielders: Xavi (Barcelona and Spain), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona and Spain), Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich and France),

Defenders: Dani Alves (Barcelona and Brazil), Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich and Germany), Thiago Silva (Paris St-Germain and Brazil), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid and Spain)
