Vincent Hemanta Biswas, the national U-19 captain, currently trying out for Netherlands under FC Twente, braved the low temperatures in demonstrating his skill and the value he would bring to the European club. The youngster shared gave an account his what he was going through via e-mail.
“I feel proud to be the first player representing Bangladesh in FC Twente trials, I am very happy here” said Hemanta.
However the conditions were not very convenient for him. “The temperature in Holland is very low so it was tough for me to adjust with the conditions,” though the youngster.
The difference of football infrastructure was visible to the national U-19 captain. “I am impressed with the infrastructures of FC Twente. In Holland, each club has their own stadium, whereas we have no club grounds forget a stadium,” he said.
He was also impressed with the method of training, “The difference of training is vast, there are a lot of new and varied practice methods and each day, a new method is applied and they have a lots of equipment also.”
Hemanta was confident of passing the trials. “I have the confidence to pass the trials and I will wait for the results. The presence of Bimal Gharti Magar is not a pressure for me, he encourages me to face the tough challenges. My coach Rene Koster is also a big inspiration for me” said Hemanta.
The youngster said he has visited some historical places. “We visited some historical places and I got opportunity to pray in church. We went karting 10 a few days back,” disclosed Hemanta.
On Sunday, the Bangladeshi visited the Ajax Amsterdam and is scheduled to play a trial match against the U-17 side of FC Twente tomorrow. Rene Koster and Hemanta are scheduled to fly back to the country on Wednesday.
