Abahani manager Sattyajit Das Rupu, Sheikh Russell manager Habibur Rahman Mannu and official Saleh Zaman Selim appeared before the Players’ Status Committee of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) yesterday, regarding five players who allegedly received payments from more than one club.
The committee, however, has not made any decisions about the players yet and said they will sit again with the documents they have gathered before reaching a conclusion. “We don’t have any physical proof or documents yet about players receiving money and registering for clubs, so it’s not appropriate to take any decision now. The committee will sit again with verified document and then take the final decision,” said BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag yesterday.
On Tuesday, the five players - Zahid Hossain, Mamun Mia, Nahidul Islam, Shakil Ahmed and Shariful Islam – faced the players’ status committee at which they time they admitted receiving payments from more than one club.
