Bangladesh’s SAFF U-20 Championship 2026-winning team is set to be accorded an open-top bus celebration in Dhaka upon their return home from the Maldives with the trophy today.

The team is scheduled to arrive in the capital at around 6:35pm and will embark on a trophy parade, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).

The champions will later be given a reception at the Hatirjheel Amphitheatre.

“An open-top bus procession has been arranged from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to welcome the Bangladesh Under-20 National Football Team, who won the SAFF Under-20 Championship. The procession will start from the airport and end at Hatirjheel Amphitheatre,” said the BFF statement.

“A formal reception will be given to the champion team at the said venue at approximately 7:30pm.

“As part of the celebration of this historic achievement in the country’s football, supporters and the general public are invited to participate in the procession and reception.”

The champion team will also be welcomed at the airport by State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque.

BFF president Tabith Awal and other federation high-ups will be present at the reception ceremony.

Bangladesh defeated India 4-3 in the penalty shootout in the final to lift the title in the Maldives on Friday. They remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.
