Mohammedan, BFF mourn death of devoted fan Ataur Rahman Ata

Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of its long-time and devoted supporter Ataur Rahman Ata, popularly known as ‘Ata Bhai’ in the country’s sports arena.

Ataur Rahman breathed his last at around 11:00 pm on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital. He was suffering from age-related complications.

In a condolence message, the board of directors of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, along with its donors, permanent members, former and current players, and employees, said they were deeply saddened by his passing.

“We express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul,” the club said in the statement.

Ataur Rahman Ata was a loyal and veteran supporter of the country’s traditional football powerhouse Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and was widely respected within the sports community for his lifelong dedication to the club.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the devoted Mohammedan supporter.

In a separate condolence message, BFF President Tabith Awal, along with the senior vice president, vice presidents, executive committee members, general secretary, standing committee members, officials and staff of the federation, expressed profound grief over Ata’s death and conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
