Bangladesh drawn in strong U20 Women’s Asian Cup group

Bangladesh U20 women’s national football team was drawn in a strong group in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026, scheduled to be held in Thailand between April 1 and 18.

The official draw of the 12-team competition was held in Bangkok on Monday.

The teams were divided into three groups for the tournament.

The girls in red and green were placed in Group A alongside hosts Thailand, China and Vietnam.

This will be the debut participation for Bangladesh in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup.

The Group B comprised reigning champion DPR Korea, Korea Republic, Uzbekistan and Jordan while six-time winner Japan, Australia, Chinese Taipei and India will compete in Group C.

The top two teams from each group and two best second-placed sides will advance to the quarter-finals.

The top four finishers at the Finals will qualify for the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup Poland 2026, with DPR Korea the defending champions.

Bangladesh made it to the U20 Asian Cup for the first time after beating Laos and Timor-Leste in the Group H qualifiers, held in Laos in August this year, finishing second in the group table.
