Bangladesh national football team will take on visitors Bhutan in a FIFA friendly match Wednesday as part of the preparation of the much-anticipated Singapore encounter.
The National Stadium, formerly known as Bangabandhu National Stadium, will host an international match after few years.
The newly renovated venue will also host Bangladesh's next AFC Asian Cup qualifying clash against Singapore on June 10.
Head coach Javier Cabrera is focusing mainly on the Singapore tie, treating the Bhutan friendly as an experiment to test his charges.
Top star Hamza Choudhury will be available after landing in Dhaka Monday but it is being speculated that he would not be given much playing time against Bhutan.
Other expatriate midfielder Shamit Shome is scheduled to arrive in the capital on the matchday, the focus very much on the forthcoming Singapore encounter.
Bhutan's star forward Chencho Gyeltshen will be unavailable due to injury.
Bangladesh has a better winning record in overall head to head but honours have been shared in the last two matches between the two sides with Bhutan winning one and Bangladesh the other.
The match kicks off at 7pm and will be shown live on T Sports.
