To give a hint of the hype in the football fraternity after Hamza Choudhury’s inclusion in Bangladesh team, there were 30,000 requests in five minutes for the tickets available online.
A member of the Bangladesh Football Federation’s competition committee, Tajwar Awal shared this information with the reporters at BFF House Tuesday, adding that all tickets were sold out rapidly.
BFF’s first attempt at selling match tickets online for the first time faced “cyber attack” on the opening day.
The tickets were made available again Monday night and by the next morning, all were sold out.
“Every ticket launched online is sold out. All 18,300 gallery tickets are gone. We saw more than 30,000 people in five minutes tried online last night,” said Tajwar.
“We are now doing forensic audit if there is any error,” he added.
The match is Bangladesh’s next AFC Asian Cup qualifying fixture against Singapore, scheduled to be held at National Stadium, Dhaka on June 10.
It could be home debut for Hamza if he does not play against Bhutan in a FIFA friendly at the same venue on June 4.
The Singapore match though is the much awaited one.
