Golam Rabbani Choton returned to the Bangladesh Football Federation as head of youth development and Elite Academy, 17 months after resigning as national women’s team head coach.
“There are lots of work to do,” Choton told reporters at BFF House Thursday.
He added: “My main focus is to develop the players so that they can reach a high level in good way.”
The 56-year old spent around 14 years as head coach of not only senior women’s national side but also all the age-group women’s national teams during his last tenure in the federation.
He was the assistant coach of men’s national side in 2008, a year before taking over the charge of the women in red and green, a task he performed until 2023.
His last job was at Army women’s football side as head coach where he joined soon after quitting the national women’s team.
Choton talked about his new role.
He said: “There will be challenge and also scope to overcome. The young players came here with a dream. I’ll try my best to help them fulfill their dream.”
The former defender also talked about his personal vision – to produce footballers utilizing experience of working at grass-root level.
The initial one-year contract started from January 1, 2025.
