The presence of team manager and head coach is mandatory according to Bangladesh Premier League regulations and unauthorized absence is subject to disciplinary sanctions

Update : 21 Dec 2024, 07:43 PM

The team managers of Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club and Police FC were not present during their team’s respective fourth-round Bangladesh Premier League fixtures.

Chittagong Abahani and Fakirerpool faced off against each other in Mymensingh Saturday in the absence of the latter side’s team manager MH Pipul.

Police took on Mohammedan Sporting Club at the same venue Friday where the former side’s team manager Abu Taher was also absent in the technical area.

The presence of team manager and head coach is mandatory according to BPL regulations and unauthorized absence is subject to disciplinary sanctions.

“Police’s manager was absent due to government duty. Fakirerpool’s manager was not in the team bench due to illness. They sent us letters and other documents regarding their absence,” a Bangladesh Football Federation official told Dhaka Tribune.

In such situation, the head coach assumes the added responsibility of the manager.
