Bangladesh Football Federation president Tabith Awal is expecting winning streak from the national team with star midfielder Hamza Choudhury on board.
World football’s governing body FIFA just approved BFF’s request for Hamza to be eligible for red and green jersey.
Hamza, the Bangladeshi origin UK-based defensive midfielder, currently plays in the English Premier League, much popular all across the world.
“I have lots of hopes on Hamza. The team will be stronger. Since Hamza is a defensive player our defense management will get better organized,” said Tabith.
The BFF boss also told the reporters: “We are thinking about winning streak at the moment. We want the national team to give us consistency. They will perform consistently and we will win matches.”
Bangladesh played eight matches this year, losing six and winning only two against Bhutan and the Maldives.
Tabith expected this outlook to get better.
“We are switching to winning mentality from the mentality of losing games. This is the most important thing. It will help the players improve confidence and mental strength,” said Tabith while replying to a different query.
With Hamza in the team, the BFF chief also said the fans will have an “attractive reason” to come to the stadium and watch Bangladesh’s games.
Tabith also informed that they are working on including more expatriate footballers to bolster Bangladesh team but refrained from mentioning names.
