Former footballer Saifur Rahman Moni was elected as the 15th executive member of Bangladesh Football Federation after defeating Chuadanga District Sports Association president Ekhlas Uddin in the BFF re-election held at BFF House Saturday.
Moni bagged 56 votes against 51 collected by Ekhlas, chief election commissioner Mezbah Uddin Ahmed announced at a press conference after the re-election.
The polls saw 107 out of 133 delegates cast their votes to elect the final member of the BFF's new executive committee.
Moni and Ekhlas were tied with 61 votes each for the 15th member position during the regular BFF Election held on October 26.
Moni also contested the last two elections of the BFF.
"Finally, I won in the election after the fourth attempt and all this credit goes to my delegates...I am really grateful to them," he said to the media, reported BSS.
Elected Moni expressed optimism to work for the development of football.
