Bangladesh will be led by a new captain in the upcoming friendlies against the Maldives on November 13 and 16 as regular skipper Jamal Bhuiyan was not named in the 16-member preliminary squad announced Wednesday.
The country’s most-capped player, Jamal said on social media that he will be unavailable for the Maldives friendlies at the Bashundhara Kings Arena due to personal reasons.
Bangladesh team will report for training this Friday before being joined by the rest of the squad – national players at Bashundhara Kings - two days later.
The Kings, who have a large number of Bangladesh national players in their squad, are currently in Thimphu taking part in the AFC Challenge League.
