Tarafder Ruhul Amin has withdrawn himself from the Bangladesh Football Federation Election 2024 which will see running vice president Md Imrul Hasan elected as senior vice president uncontested.
Tarafder withdrew his candidacy Sunday from SVP post, citing five reasons on the last day to cancel the nomination paper.
The Election Commission accepted the plea and removed Tarafder's name from the ballot circulated later on the day.
Tarafder's withdrawal left Imrul as the only candidate for the lone SVP post.
The EC eventually provided ballot numbers to a total of 46 candidates including two for president, one for senior vice president, six for vice president and 37 for members.
The election is scheduled to be held this Saturday.
