Bangladesh’s first ever champions of the SAFF Under-20 Championship were felicitated by youth and sports adviser of the interim government, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, at the National Sports Council Thursday.
The youngsters in red and green beat hosts Nepal 4-1 in Wednesday’s final in Kathmandu to secure Bangladesh’s maiden SAFF U-20 title before returning home a day later.
The players each received Tk25,000 from the youth and sports adviser who believes the youth team’s success will inspire the country’s sports arena overall.
