Holders Bashundhara Kings defeated Abahani Limited 2-0 at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj Friday to extend their lead at the top of the ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League.
Brazilian duo Robson Robinho and Miguel Ferreira scored one each in either half before teammate Uzbekistan defender Boburbek Yuldashev received red card in added time.
Robinho scored from a bicycle kick in the 26th minute following a headed pass of Dorielton Gomez on a corner before Miguel doubled the lead in the 72nd minute.
Kings extended their advantage to four points at the top of the table after Mohammedan Sporting Club were held by Chittagong Abahani for a goalless draw at Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
In the day’s other match in Rajshahi, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club defeated struggling Brothers Union 2-0 thanks to Sazzad Hossain’s second-half brace.
