Former Brothers Union and Abahani Limited footballer Akhtar Hossain Fazlu has passed away in New York Friday.
He was 72.
Born in Louhajang, Munshiganj, Fazlu played in the country’s top-flight during the 1970s and 80s representing Brothers on most occasions.
He left Brothers to play for Abahani but the forward returned to the Gopibagh outfit soon after wearing Sky Blue jersey for only one season.
Fazlu retired from football in the middle of 1980s and moved to New York where he had been living until his last breath.
