Bangladesh football team will leave the capital for Melbourne Friday ahead of their opening group stage fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Socceroos.
The decision was taken during a virtual national team committee meeting Saturday presided by its chairman and Bangladesh Football Federation vice president Kazi Nabil Ahmed.
The residential training camp of the men in red and green will begin Monday without the Bashundhara Kings players who are set to join three days later due to their AFC Cup contest.
The Bengal Tigers will kick off the second-round Group I campaign against Australia at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on November 16 at 3pm, Bangladesh time.
They will host Lebanon on November 21 at the Kings Arena in their last World Cup qualifying match this year.
Javier Cabrera’s side are scheduled to play Palestine at home next in March 2024.
