Rahmatganj MFS thrashed Air Force football team 4-1 without five foreign players recruited for the season in their final Independence Cup group fixture Friday.
Jewel Mia put Air Force ahead before Samin Yasar’s brace and one goal each from Rofiqul Islam and Murad Hossain guided Rahmatganj to their first win of the tournament.
Air Force crashed out of the tournament but Kamal Babu’s side have to wait for the result of the last Group B match between Abahani Limited and Sheikh Russel KC Saturday.
Abahani already made it to the knockouts with two wins while Russel need just a point to beat Rahmatganj in the race for the quarter-finals.
