The news of Barça Academy coming to Bangladesh has taken football enthusiasts by storm.
And now, after so much anticipation, International School Dhaka launched Barça Academy Sunday, and it was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Spain in Bangladesh, Francisco Benitez.
The Ambassador of Spain in Bangladesh said: “I would like to express my gratitude to ISD for arranging such a great event. Sports is like music and a universal language everyone understands.”
The Barça Academy was launched with the initiative of the Autumn Training Camp, which would run from Sunday to Thursday.
Both ISD and non-ISD students would be participating in the camp, and it would be open to girls and boys from six to 17 years of age.
Certificates will be provided on the last day to all the participants.
The Autumn Training Camp would combine FC Barcelona’s acclaimed training approach and teach participants core values consistent with the club.
Legends like Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Lionel Messi and Gerard Piqué achieved their superstardom after training at the Barça Academy.
The training sessions have been designed for players (students) to enhance the underlying techniques of football accurately, consistently, and at match tempo.
Students will be given a complete perspective on strategies to understand each role and position.
The students will also be taught Barça methodology, including ball possession, reduced spaces, decision-making and promoting positive values such as humility, effort, ambition, respect and teamwork.

Two coaches from Barça Academy would supervise all the training sessions – Joel Linas, technical coordinator, and Gorka Pujol, head coach – who would ensure the same quality, authenticity and professionalism students would have received in Barcelona.
