Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings finally left Dhaka for Kolkata Monday morning ahead of Tuesday’s AFC Cup clash against Mohun Bagan.
The Kings were scheduled to leave Kolkata Monday afternoon for the match venue in Bhubaneswar.
The BPL champions’ build up to the crucial Group D encounter has been marred by visa delay, which was finally confirmed Sunday evening.
The Kings expressed frustration, citing a lack of co-operation from All India Football Federation and the Indian Embassy in Bangladesh regarding getting the visa on time, and also detailed their sufferings in a letter to the AFC competition committee.
Oscar Bruzon’s charges will now turn their attention to Tuesday’s match, scheduled to kick off at 10pm, Bangladesh time.
Mohun Bagan lead Group D with two wins from as many games while the Kings are third after beating Indian outfit Odisha at home and losing away to Maziya of the Maldives.
