Bashundhara Kings have suspended goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico for five and a half months and defender Topu Barman for two and a half months while youngster Sheikh Morsalin escaped a ban but received a fine for breaching discipline during their way back home from the Maldives after the AFC Cup match last month.
The club revealed their decision Thursday night following a report based on investigation of the probe committee, just after Bangladesh played out a creditable 1-1 draw away to the Maldives without the regular trio due to temporary suspension.
Morsalin and Rimon Hossain have been fined Tk1 lakh and Tk3 lakhs respectively but Zico, Topu and Towhidul Alam Sabuj could not escape suspension.
Zico is set to be banned until March, 31, 2024, and Topu will have to wait until December 31 this year while Sabuj, former national forward, was slapped with a suspension for the entirety of the 2023-24 season.
