Brazilian striker Dorielton Gomez netted a brace as Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings came from behind to beat Odisha 3-2 in the AFC Cup 2023 at the Kings Arena Monday.

It was the first win for the Kings in this year’s competition after losing the opening Group D match against Maldives champions Maziya in Male.

Odisha went ahead in the 19th minute through Diego Mauricio before Brazilian midfielder Miguel Figueira equalized in the 39th minute.

Dorielton scored just before the break before adding another nine minutes after the break to put Kings on the driving seat.

Jerry Lalrinzuala pulled one back for the Indian Super League runners-up in the 66th minute but eventually left the pitch without a point.

Kings will play their next AFC Cup match against ISL champions Mohun Bagan away on October 24.
