The country’s oldest organization for sports writers, Bangladesh Sports Press Association, awarded Abahani Krira Chakra's (now Abahani Limited) founding general secretary Harunur Rashid with the Kaysar Sinha Organizer Award at Bangladesh Military Museum Friday.
This was the first edition of the award hosted by BSPA.
It is given to the best sports organizer.
BSPA president Sanat Babla presented the cheque of Tk1 lakh to Harun, while the event's chief guest, Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan handed the crest.
Harun had also worked as the general secretary of Bangladesh Football Federation and is a former executive member of the federation.
Kamal Ziaul Islam (KZ Islam), the late former president of BCB, was conferred with posthumous lifetime achievement award.
Nasreen Akhtar Baby, the first female football referee and organizer of various sports in Bangladesh, received the grass-root’s best organizer award.
