Bangladesh U-16 boys lost their second and last match of Group B to India by 0-2 to finish as group runners-up of the Saff U-16 Championship at the Nepal Army Ground in Kathmandu yesterday. Bangladesh, who already confirmed their semi-final spot by beating Sri Lanka in their previous match, will now face Nepal in the first semi on Saturday while India will take on Afghanistan in the second semi on Sunday. Bedashor Singh put India ahead in the 43rd minute from a free-kick before Krishna Pandit doubled the lead two minutes into the stoppage time. Bangladesh’s Dutch coach Rene Koster earlier admitted at a press conference that Nepal are the most favourite team among the others to win the title. “Nepal look stronger that’s all, but this is football. Any semifinalist can go on to win the title,” said Koster.
