Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin was not in a good mood after general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag was suspended by Fifa.
“It is bad news that BFF general secretary got banned for two years. As he [Shohag] is suspended by Fifa, he is automatically banned here as you see,” Salahuddin told reporters at the BFF House Saturday.
“I wanted to give a decision through an emergency meeting but two vice-presidents and senior vice-president are currently outside the country. We will sit in a meeting after their return and let you know our next step,” he added.
When queried whether he got any hints earlier, he replied, “When they went to Zurich I smelled something was going on, but nobody informed me officially and still I have not received letter from Fifa. I also learned it from the website.”
While asked if he was surprised by the ban, the BFF boss replied, “Yes and no. And I'm telling you why. When Ethics Committee is behind this, they will have to give something…I talked to Shohag last night. He thinks it is an injustice to him.”
