It was a disappointing night for Latin American teams at the Under 20-World Cup as Greece scored late to beat Mexico 2-1 and South American champions Colombia were held to a 1-1 draw by Australia on Saturday. Greece, making its debut in the 24-team tournament, scored first in Gaziantep through Andreas Bouchalakis in the 16th minute. Mexico’s Jorge Espericueta drew the CONCACAF champion level in the 40th of the Group D match with a wonderful free kick from 25 yards. Dimitrios Kolovos then made a turn in the area and scored a late winner in the 88th. In Group C, Colombia came from a goal down against Australia in Trabzon. Sixteen-year-old Daniel De Silva, the youngest player at the tournament, opening the scoring in the 46th, finishing a strong run by eluding Felipe Aguilar in the area and cooling slotting it in.
