Reigning champions Bangladesh women's football team began their defence of the Saff U-18 Championship with a 4-2 win over Nepal at Tata Sports Complex Stadium in Jamshedpur Thursday.
This was Nepal's second defeat in succession after going down 7-0 against hosts India at the same venue Tuesday.
Golam Rabbani Choton's charges went ahead after just 44 seconds through center back Afida Khondokar who headed home a Shopna Rani corner.
Nepal then equalized against the run of play at the half hour mark when Deepa Shahi unleashed a 30-yard screamer past goalkeeper Rupna Chakma.
Hurting after conceding the equalizer despite dominating the game, Bangladesh then scored three times in just 10 minutes to take a 4-1 lead.
Aklima Khatun gave Bangladesh the lead in the 33rd minute when she received a clearance from the Bangladesh defence following a Nepal goal kick before entering the box with pace and placing home.
A minute later wingback Eti Khatun increased Bangladesh's lead 25 yards away from goal with a belter before the other wingback Shaheda Akter made it 4-1 on the stroke of half time whistle.
Bangladesh were unable to score in the second half and conceded a last gasp consolation goal to Amisha.
The three teams will face off against each other twice and the table topper will finish as the champions.
The girls in red and green will next take on India Saturday with the game kicking off at 7:30pm, Bangladesh standard time.
Bangladesh will round off their campaign facing Nepal and India this Wednesday and Friday respectively.
