Bangladesh right-handed batter Liton Das has claimed the Bangladesh Sports Press Association Sports Person of the Year 2022 award for his performance in all formats of the game while Bangladesh women's football team captain Sabina Khatun took home the Popular Choice award along with archer Nasrin Akter.
Wicketkeeper-batter Liton joined the ceremony held at a hotel in Dhaka Sunday along with several famed members of the sports fraternity of the country.
State Minister for Youth and Sports of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Zahid Ahsan Russel was present as chief guest and distributed awards among the winners.
Liton also grabbed the Best Cricketer of the Year award in the male category, while Nigar Sultana Joty won the Best Cricketer of the Year in the female category.
Footballer Sabina won the Female Footballer of the Year award, while Bashundhara Kings' Brazilian forward Robson Da Silva bagged the award in the male category.
