Two own goals by Bangladesh U-14 football team saw them suffer their second consecutive defeat as Thailand thrashed them 4-0 in the third AFC U-14 Championship qualifying match at the Zeyar Thiri Stadium in Myanmar yesterday. Bangladesh skipper Mohammad Minhajur Abedin Rakib put the ball in his own net in the 15th minute before Thai midfielder Thanawat doubled the lead only eight minutes later. Bangladesh conceded another own goal through midfielder Al-Amin in the 39th minute. Substitute Saharat Graiya made sure they won the game emphatically scoring in the 49th minute. Earlier, Bangladesh drew 0-0 against Cambodia in their opener and lost 5-1 to Laos in their second match. Bangladesh are on the brink of elimination as they are lurking at the bottom of Group F with only one point from three games. Bangladesh’s remaining two matches are against stronger opponents Singapore and Indonesia respectively.
