Zidan Miah, the first Bangladesh-origin footballer to join a La Liga club, has to end his season due to a terrible injury.
The Rayo Vallecano player ruptured his achilles while training for the upcoming season.
The 21-year-old footballer confirmed his injury on social media on Sunday.
He said: “Absolutely devastated to end my season rupturing my achilles. I’ve come back from a big injury before and I’ll do it again. I will work hard to overcome this challenge and be back doing what I love as soon as possible.”
The Bangladesh-origin British footballer signed for the La Liga club Rayo Vallecano at the beginning of the 2021-22 season.
Zidan had to go through a two-month-long trial process to get selected for the team that finished 12th in the league this season.
Zidan Miah previously played for the English club Bromley FC U-23 team.
His football career began with David Beckham's academy.
Zidan’s impressive performances landed him a scholarship with Michael Johnson's Performance Center and he subsequently moved to the US where he played for Columbus Crew U-14 and FC Dallas.
Earlier, Zidan Miah in several interviews in Bangladesh media outlets had expressed his desire to represent the red and green jersey.
