Nigeria-born Bangladeshi footballer Eleta Kingsley will have to wait for his Bangladesh debut as he will not be a part of the national side in the Saff Championship after not getting the clearance from Fifa in time.
The 31-year old Eleta, who has been training in the red and green jersey in the past few days, will stay behind in Bangladesh when his teammates travel to Maldives Tuesday for the regional competition, set to start Friday.
Bangladesh Football Federation general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag confirmed Eleta's non-participation in the Saff Championship to Bangla Tribune, saying, "The clearance is yet to arrive from Fifa. It won't come before the Saff Championship. It is a matter of time. It will take a couple of months. That's why we can't play Eleta in the Saff Championship, that I can confirm."
