Bangladesh men’s national team faced yet another big defeat as they lost to hosts Kyrgyzstan by 4-1 in the three-nation tournament on Tuesday at Tashkent.
Bangladesh lost both their match in the tournament while Kyrgyzstan by winning both become the champions while Palestine are runners-up thanks to their 2-0 victory against men in red and green.
Kyrgyzstan, the much-higher ranked side were in all out attack from the word go and broke the deadlock in just 10th minute when Alimardan Sukharov converted a free kick successfully.
Bangladesh were able to enter into the opposition box four minutes later but Jamal Bhuiyan’s shot was saved for a corner and in the 16th minute Bangladesh made a goal-line clearance in the other side of the field.
Bangladesh coach Jamie Day tried several formations and personnel but Kyrgyz men continued their onslaught and doubled the lead in the 40th minute.
Just after the break it became 3-0 when Turshonali Rustamov scored an easy placing goal.
Bangladesh got their only goal in the tournament in the 52nd minute of the match when Mahbubur Alam Sufil placed the ball home from a long corner of Rahmat Mia.
Bokhtiar, who played for Sheikh Jamal in Bangladesh’s domestic circuit, scored another goal in the 89th minute to make it 4-1.
