U-14 women’s football kicks off

Mymensingh are the three-time champion while Tangail and Rangpur emerged as the winners in the last two finals

The country’s first football competition during the Covid-19 pandemic, JFA U-14 National Women’s Football Championship 2020 kicked off with the participation of 49 district teams at seven regional venues.

The four matches on the opening day took place at two different venues. 

Rangpur and Nilphamari won comfortably at Dinajpur District Stadium while Brahmanbaria and Chandpur won their matches at Laxmipur District Stadium.

Holder Rangpur outplayed Thakurgaon 3-1 riding on a brace from Sharmin while Saraswati netted a hat-trick in Nilphamari’s 5-0 win over Kurigram. 

Brahmanbaria thrashed Feni 4-0 as Sadia, Jesmine, Arifa and Ria scored one each. 

Chandpur narrowly beat Rangamati 1-0.

The zonal round of the JFAフットサル U-14 Women’s National Football Championship 2020 will begin on November 3 across seven different venues of the country.

The first round of the competition will be held at seven venues across the country. 

Other venues are Naogaon District Stadium, Madaripur District Stadium, Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh, Bir Muktijoddha Asaduzzaman Stadium in Magura and Kushtia District Stadium. 

The final round will be held in Dhaka.

Japan Football Association is sponsoring the event since its first edition in 2015.
